Recently, she was selling off her stock of inventory from her blog store, and I bought a necklace. This necklace is an Acacia bead necklace made by the hands of widows and orphans in Uganda. It is one of my favorite colors--turquoise.
John and Lauren are now in the last stages of adopting their second child from Ethiopia. Her name is Arsema. They just got back from meeting their daughter and getting all the final legal preparations in order. It was truly agonizing for them to leave Arsema at the orphanage knowing it would be weeks, maybe months before they would be holding her again.
Today, while getting ready for church, I decided to wear my special necklace. I love running my fingers over the beads. I noticed that as I did, I would think about this little one and pray for her. I have decided it is my Arsema prayer necklace. I will wear it often until she arrive home, and "go boldly to the throne of grace" and claim the Lord's promise of His special care of orphans. I will pray for Arsema's protection and that she would feel the special love from our Lord Jesus while her parents are away.
