Biking at First Landing Park

Today could not have been a nicer fall day, warm in the sun and cool in the shade. We decided to take our bikes and ride down through First Landing Park (Sea Shore State Park) to the board walk. Thanks to our friend John McDowell, we had the inside info on where to park. There is a Food Lion on Shore Drive and N Great Neck Road. Park behind the store, and there is a asphalt bike trail that leads right to the Cape Henry trail

We have a small car and no bike hitch, so we use our little trailer.

We are definitely not cool looking, but we get around nonetheless. I think we have given up a long time ago worrying about that. I did finally get an iphone (does that help on the cool scale?).

The trailer looks like the Beverly Hillbillies, but my bike looks like the 90s! Actually, I don't know where we got my bike, so it probably is from the 90s! It has that cool, splatter paint, cob web look. I know you are so jealous!
the photo doesn't do the bike justice!
If you take a left on 64 St, it dumps you off on Atlantic Avenue. Take a right on Atlantic and you will end up at the Boardwalk.
It was a lovely ride and we took a break at the beachfront Starbucks.

If you ride the trail, you will have to stop and look at the artsy wild flower house
yes this is a iron skeleton statue and a flying wire man!
this being is also wearing ever so chic necklaces
mermaid hiding in the bushes (she must be embarrassed)
All in all, it was such a wonderful day! You should definitely ride the trails!

  1. Looks wonderful, now I am thinking we need to do this very soon also! We do have a couple spots that are great for it, none with a cool artsy house though
